Dear Students:
- Students must carry their photo ID and program cards AT ALL TIMES.
Student photo IDs can be taken in Room 160 during 8th period. Replacement cost is $2.00
after the first two have been issued. Students must present their I.D. and program cards to
any adult who requests it.
- Lateness, cutting and truancy are prohibited and will contribute to failure.
- Students may not bring any unauthorized person into the school building at any time.
Intruders will be arrested and disciplinary action will be taken against students who bring
intrudes into the building. Parents/guardians with proper identification may register with
security to meet with members of the staff.
- Students may not carry headphones/walkman devices, beepers or cellular phones
into the building. Beepers and cellular phones will be confiscated and only parents or
guardians will be able to pick them up on FRIDAYS only between the hours of 8:30 and
3:00 in Room 141. *ON THE FIRST OFFENSE BEEPERS/CELL PHONES WILL BE HELD FOR TWO SCHOOL
DAYS BEFORE BEING RETURNED TO PARENTS.! SECOND TIME VIOLATORS will not have the beeper
returned until the end of the term unless he/she is discharged prior to the end of the term.
All walkman radios may be confiscated and picked up in Room 141 at a later time.
- Hats or headgear (except religious attire) are NOT to be worn in the
building. All outerwear, including hats must be placed in an assigned locker. Lockers must
be bolted with a SCHOOL MASTER LOCK, at the beginning of the student's day. Juniors and
Seniors are to use lockers in the LOCKER ROOM ONLY. Freshmen and Sophomores are to use
lockers in their first period class.
- Students must obtain the official pass to go from one place to another in the building.
Students must sign a yellow log sheet to leave any subject class.
- Blue Emergency Room passes must be obtained from subject teachers in order to
go to the Emergency Room (B 15).
- Students who become ill may not be sent home alone. A parent or legal guardian
must pick them up at school and obtain a pass from the Emergency Room.
- STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SMOKE IN THE BUILDING OR ON THE GROUNDS
CONTIGUOUS TO THE SCHOOL. Summonses may be issued to offenders and parents will be notified.
- Students are not to remain in areas of the building where they are
unsupervised. This includes the auditorium, empty offices and classroom.
- Students are to leave the school grounds upon the completion of their school day.
- No spitting on school grounds.
- Students may go to the school store during their lunch periods only.
Students must have a pass to enter the store that is given in the cafeteria. Students
that do not follow this policy may be banned from the school store.
THE FOLLOWING ARE PROHIBITED IN THE BUILDING
- Beads or "colors".
- Tank tops and short shorts, sunglasses, headbands, visors,
ski masks, spiked bracelets, inappropriate words or slogans on clothing.
- Bike chains may not be worn in the building.
- Posting or distributing materials on school grounds.
- Glass Bottles.
- Skateboards, bicycles, roller blades or skates.
- Basketballs, soccer balls, bats or other sports equipment.
- Students are to leave the school grounds upon the completion of their school day.
- No markers are permitted on school grounds.
- No spitting on school grounds.
Engaging in the following behaviors will result in disciplinary action which may include
suspension from school, transfer to another school, arrest, and/or indefinite suspension or expulsion:
- Fighting and disrupting the orderly operation of school activities.
- Engaging in physical assault and/or sexual assault.
- Engaging in, or causing riotous conditions.
- Recklessly endangering students and/or staff.
- Possessing or using a weapon or laser light.
- Engaging in theft of personal or school property.
- Engaging in cheating or plagiarizing.
- Ringing a false alarm or engaging in acts of arson.
- Using intimidation, coercion, force or extortion.
- Vandalism to school property or property of students or staff, e.g. graffiti.
- Gambling, possessing alcohol or drugs.
- Selling or distributing alcohol or controlled substances.
- Engaging in sexual harassment or making inappropriate/offensive
comments (slurs against racial/ethnic groups, religious groups, the disabled, those
of another gender or sexual orientation).
- Defying the lawful authority of school personnel.
- Tampering with, creating, changing or altering a record or document of
the school by any method.
- Using force against or attempting to inflict injury upon school personnel.
- Involvement in off-premises behavior, which presents a danger to the health,
safety, morals or welfare of the school community.
PROGRAM CARD AND I.D. CARD POLICY
- Program cards must be carried at all times.
- I.D. cards must be carried at all times.
- Students must present their program cards and/or
I.D. cards
when asked by school personnel.
- The initial program card and I.D. card are free.
The first re-
placement of a lost program card and I.D. card will
also be
free. There will be a $2.00 charge for each
permanent pro-
gram card or I.D. card that is issued after the
first two.
- Students must present their I.D. cards upon entering
the
building.
- Students must show their program cards at the door
upon
entering the cafeteria. Students who do not have
their pro-
gram cards should go to the Deans' Office, Room
160.
- No student shall give another student his or her
program card
or I.D. card. This will result in an automatic
suspension.
INTERVENTION MEASURES FOR VIOLATION OF THIS POLICY:
Parent contacted by dean.
Detention assigned by Mr. Bardossas.
Parent must come up for a pre-suspension conference.
Adhering to these polices by each student will permit our school to function in
an orderly manner, and will promote academic achievement.
